AWD in the Community

15.12.2017

AWD got into the Christmas spirit this year by making a donation to our friends and neighbours, Hillhouse, a dedicated local charity who are on a mission to help families and individuals facing financial hardship.

Managing Director, Malachy Ryan, along with engineers Ross Quail, Mohammed Othman, and Christy Milne, and Office Manager, Emma McGrath, travelled the short distance this week to pop in on Hillhouse to talk to the wonderful staff and find out more about the great work they do in our local community.

Founded in 1975, Hillhouse do tremendous work to help ease the financial burden on parents and families by providing everything from clothing and toiletries to toys and cots, to anyone in need, which is especially important work at this time of year.

AWD were delighted to donate over 100 pairs of pyjamas for local children, who would otherwise go without, to keep them warm over the festive period.

Office Manager, Emma McGrath, said: ‘As the mother of two young girls, it is very important to me to be able to support the great work of the staff here at Hillhouse. We know how hard all the staff and volunteers work to ensure that anyone in our community who is in need can be provided for. To work for an employer that prioritises these types of community initiatives is so rewarding, especially knowing that our donation will bring a smile to so many young faces.’
